On April 18, the first part of the water project in Villa Pag-Asa was accomplished. The pipeline and the private tape were installed in the 38 houses built 5 years ago by the previous volunteers of Kaloob. The water association locally created is now the one that manages the infrastructure composed of the pipeline, the water tank, and the pump.

The next step of the project will be to connect the 50 houses ongoing, in partnership with the mayor’s office of Piat. The 50 news families are from the riverside and were victims of the strong typhoons (which hit the Philippines every year).

This second and last step will be realized between the months of June and July 2015.

Kaloob will prepare new projects in Piat, to foster development in the community of Villa Pag-Asa. This project will be accomplished with the assistance of two teams of Scouts de France, in the coming months of July and August 2015.

The realization of the project was mainly supervised by two volunteers of Kaloob with the collaboration of a team of engineers from Piat’s mayor’s office.

Update of the ongoing water project

On the first of April 2015, Kaloob’s water project in Piat start its last part. Yesterday the first lines of pipes were installed and we have started the finishing of the water tank: paint and tiles. Locally the population organizes itself by creating a water association to fix the water price to permit paying the electricity bills, the local technician, and the maintenance.
