The Philippines is a developing country that has grown more than 5% per year over the last five years. However, poverty persists. Due to its geographical location, the Philippines is severely affected by natural disasters. Typhoons every year destroy infrastructures, houses, and lands, causing thousands of deaths, injuries and increased numbers of homeless people without access to water or electricity. The poor are the first victims. These calamities deprive them access to education, health and decent housing.
For the past 8 years, Kaloob has been struggling with the poor to improve their living conditions and respect their human rights.
